Lost To A Family Team

SOAS Arena, 12th February 2010: SOAS FC was visited from the opposing team which comes from a family member of the SOAS FC player. This team was called Team Family Malai Haji. During the 1st half of the match, SOAS FC only mananged to score 2 goals to the opposing team which was from Cikgu Helmi and the 2nd goal was from Cg Md Arizal. Eventhough the report was given was not entirely complete, only few reports will be mentioned here. Back to the story, During the 2nd half of the match, with a opposing team playing a bit violent, the referee had to give a yellow card to the opposing team. But not long after that, SOAS FC was also given its first yellow card. The final score, SOAS FC lost to TFMH with 4 goals to 2. That's all from the SOAS FC editor.

1st WIN TO SOAS FC

SOAS Arena, 6th February 2010: SOAS FC finally won its match this season with a big win with five goals to two. During the first half, SOAS FC scored two goals in which the first goal was from Ustaz Shahrul whereas the second goal was from Cikgu Harlezam. Most SOAS FC players was playing very well in this game against the opposing team from the court team in which most of the ball posession was mostly with the home team.

During the second half, SOAS FC scored again by its midfield player, Cikgu Yusrin. Not long after the third goal, the opposing team managed to score which result in SOAS FC with three goals and the court team with two goals. SOAS FC again managed to score another goal with a terrific header from its defender, Cikgu Azri with the assist from a corner kick. With the most players were playing infield leaving most of the defender behind, the opposing team nearly managed to score but because SOAS FC have a good defending team from Cikgu Azri, Cikgu Arizal, Ustaz Shahroni and Cikgu Yusri. Almost at the end of the second half, SOAS FC again manage to score its fifth goal from Cikgu Yusrin. The final score result was that SOAS FC with five goals whereas the opposing team with two goals. Well done to the SOAS FC players eventhough one player that played in the second half never have a chance even once to touch the ball with its boots except for kick off. Congrats again to all the SOAS FC players. Hopefully they will perform the same way in the next game.

Draw with CID

SOAS Arena, 3rd February 2010: The game that was played yesterday was a good effort for the home team. Even though SOAS FC was left behind on the first ten minutes with a simple goal from the CID players. This happens because of the miscommunication between the defenders who thought to that the CID players was in the offside position. Since the referee says to play on, there is no chance for the SOAS FC players to hold off the opposing team. But within a few minutes, SOAS FC players managed to equalize with a goal from Cikgu Harlezam. He managed to score his first goal of this 2010 season assists from a rebound from Ustaz Shahrul. Before the 1st half time wistle blown, the opposing team score again with its second goal leaving SOAS FC a goal behind.

With more substitute players available yesterday more than the previous games, more strikers play infield leaving the usual strikers to play as defensive midfielders. During the second half, SOAS FC managed to play well with more one to one. This makes the opposing team very difficult to encounter. Very shockingly with a good assists, the home team managed to score two goals in the second half. The second goal was scored by SOAS FC midfielders Cikgu Yusri with the assist from Cikgu Azreen whereas the third goal was scored simply by a long time awaited player non other than Cikgu Arshad with the assist from a long goal kick from Cikgu Md Arizal. This change the result to 3 goals to 2 to the home team.

Unfortunately, with a late challenge by SOAS FC defender, the referee did not hesitate to give a penalty kick to the opposing team eventhough the CID striker was said to have 'acted' on the fall. With this penalty kick being given, they managed to equalise in the last few seconds. Within a few seconds after kick off, the referee blows the whistle ending the 3 goal draw. Congratulation to all the SOAS FC players on playing the game which starts to see improvements than previous game since January 2010. Hopefully in the next game, SOAS FC will managed to stick with the win or draw game.

New SOAS FC Team Jersey of 2010

1st agenda:

To all players of SOAS FC, the jersey that all of us have confirmed was the nike 90. Red and White like a barrier (penanda jalan) type. hehe.. The price include Fooball Jersey and shorts, socks and jersey number. The price that havc been mentioned earlier was thirty Brunei Dollars (B$30.00) if want to pay more can jua..haha..no lah.. The price actually were a bit less but we round it up and the balance we will use it to buy a few new balls, a pump and probably gloves. About the jersey number, to make things easier just put a message on my 'pigeon' hole saying your name and the number you want and don't forget your shirt size. If you want to change your number, please put your previous number as well. If clash..you all runding sama sendiri dulu. I'll try to prepare the list. For me, my number is still 28. Booked already..haha..


2nd agenda:

If you all want to have a small gathering about our previous performance, probably during chinese new year. At school saja bbq like last time. So collection for food and drinks and prizes for top scorer, top own goal scorer and so on. After next game we runding2 ok.

Lost to Kg Menunggol

SOAS Arena, 30th January 2010: SOAS FC again was upset with its second lost of this new season with a terrible lost five goals to nill. During the first half, both teams was playing really well against each other but with speed and tactics of the players of the opposing team was better than ours, they managed to score their first goal. Kg Menunggol second game was from SOAS FC players own goal that was trying to clear the ball from the post. But unfortunately the ball spins towards the post and over the keeper. Chances were made mostly from the SOAS FC but "luck was not on our side" said from one of SOAS FC players. Kg Menunggol again add a few more goals which ends the forst half with three goals to nill.
During the second half, few substitutes players entered the field. With these players, SOAS FC almost made few goals but with the good experience of the Kg Menunggol goalie, those attempt was diminished. SOAS FC again made many shots on goal especially from the SOAS FC strikers (Cikgu Harlezam, Cikgu Haji Darul, Cikgu Zulhisham, Cikgu Haji Khairol Abdoh) midfielders (Cikgu Yusrin, Cikgu Azreen)and also the defender (Ustaz Shahroni, Cikgu Yusri, Cikgu Md Arizal) but again wasted. Fortunately Kg Menunggol again added two more goals which results in SOAS FC nill, Kg Menunggol, five goals. "We have the players but since this is just the second game this year, we haven't synchronize between each other yet because of the long term vacation from last years' game" says Cikgu Mohd Arizal. But the game today was quite an experience for us he added. The final result for this game was that SOAS FC lost to Kg Menunggol with five goals to nill.

First Friendly Match of 2010

SOAS Arena, 27th January 2010: A warm welcome to all the readers of this blogspot with a welcoming greeting Happy New Year 2010 especially to the players of SOAS FC. The first friendly match this year started as usual on the SOAS Arena Football Field when the home team was visited by one of our teachers (Cikgu Haji Khairol Abdoh) team of families and friends from kampong Tungku. During the first half of the match, SOAS FC has only 9 players whereas the opposing team has a full squad. Eventhough SOAS FC at that period were lack of number of players, they managed to lead the score one to nothing. The 1st scorer on this first game this year was delivered from a header from SOAS FC right defence player non other than Cikgu Azri Hj Sulaiman. Within the whole first half, only one goal was delivered, eventhough both teams try their best to overcome one another. At the end of the first half, the result was one nill to SOAS FC.
At the start of the second half, SOAS FC managed to have a full team players which comprises of ex-teachers, collegues and one student of SOAS College. Then with the position of the players were not properly positioned, SOAS FC have difficulties on scoring to the opposing team eventhough few chances were created. With the opposing team already knew the problems their facing can be solved, they managed to equalize within the early minute of the second half. Because of the miscommunication between the SOAS FC players, the opposing team again manage to score few more goals. The final result end when SOAS FC lost to Team HKA four goals to one.
Eventhough SOAS FC lost their first game today, they still have their football spirit to play their next game on Saturday afternoon 30th Januari 2010 against a team from Kampong Menunggol. See you all players on the next game and hopefully that SOAS FC will overcome any possible cause of losing a game.
